James Taylor sings for friends in Obama vote drive

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) — Michigan supporters of President Barack Obama have a friend in James Taylor.

Taylor sang Sunday for Obama volunteers at the Democratic incumbent's campaign headquarters in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak. His performance included his 1971 Grammy-winning hit "You've Got a Friend."

Carole King wrote the song and also released a recording of it that year.

Taylor also sang at last week's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

Obama supporters are enlisting new volunteers heading into the final weeks of the 2012 presidential campaign.
