GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton will address the annual convention for the union representing North Carolina state workers and retirees after all.
The Democratic nominee for governor was slated Saturday to speak to the State Employees Association of North Carolina after his campaign previously declined an invitation, citing scheduling conflicts. But a Dalton campaign spokesman said a time was found after Dalton's appearances at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte and a speech in the mountains this week.
Republican nominee Pat McCrory spoke to SEANC's (SEE-nick's) 1,000 delegates Friday at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
The union's political action committee declined last month to endorse either candidate in the fall campaign. SEANC backed Democrat Beverly Perdue four years ago.
