Why should Americans have to subject themselves to the laws of other countries or regions of the world. We are an independent nation. It would be better if our national leaders would adopt a similar position and prevent foreign laws from working their way into our legal system without the people's consent.

@AnnDe - Sure, on surface a person would see no need for such legislation. But there is a need for it. It's needed to prevent activist "judges" from legislating from the bench. There's nothing wrong in helping to ensure that religious laws (especially an evil cult like Islam) do not trump our Constitution.

Hard to believe there are not comments. Perhaps folks know that Del. Marshall sponsors many bills that are just nuts? This bill is irrational, for the following reasons: > HB825 is contrived to protect Americans from a non-existent threat > Excludes consideration of English Common Law. This is an intolerable encumbrance to international trade. > Prevents reasonable resolution of international disputes in social or business affairs. > HB 825 is clearly ANTI-BUSINESS. We thought one of Virginias primary goals was to be business friendly. > is a clear attack on ALL RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS guaranteed by our U. S. Constitution, i.e., it is UN-AMERICAN!
